With Les Amis in Singapore listed as Asia’s 12th Best Restaurant last night and Cheryl Koh announced as Asia’s Best Pastry Chef 2016, here’s a look at the restaurant’s heritage:
Fans of French fine dining restaurant Cepage in Hong Kong will still be able to enjoy the cooking of head chef Sebastien Lepinoy and pastry chef Cheryl Koh even though the Michelin starred restaurant is now closed. They’ll just have to visit Singapore.
The culinary pair have been lured to the Lion City to head up Cepage’s sister establishment Les Amis. Both restaurants share the same enticing formula of sophisticated food and slick service mixed with an unstuffy atmosphere; a recipe that has made Les Amis as popular with food writers in the region as it is with regular customers.
First Jamie Oliver, then Gordon Ramsay now Tom Aikens. The British chef is joining his compatriots in having a second restaurant presence in Hong Kong following his collaboration with The Pawn.
The Fat Pig, focusing on nose to tail pork dishes, will open in Times Square, Causeway Bay, in mid November.
Gordon Ramsay’s second Hong Kong restaurant, London House, is now open in TST as is a second Jamie’s Italian.
Amber restaurant at The Landmark Oriental hotel, Hong Kong
Celebrated chef Ferran Adria – formerly of the now closed El Bulli, multiple winner of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants – will prepare a 12 course dinner at The Landmark Oriental’s Amber restaurant in Hong Kong on October 23rd and 24th.
The price? $HK10,888 per person.
Ice cream burger at Intercontinental Hong Kong
If you’re feeling the heat in Hong Kong this weekend pop along to the Intercontinental for a slightly bonkers but brilliant ice cream burger.
Available in the Lobby Lounge, the five “burgers” each feature a homemade brioche bun filled with various flavours of ice cream, cream, cookies, fruits and jam.
