Pierre’s Lucky Number 8
Pierre Gagniere is making a special visit to Hong Kong this November to celebrate the 8th anniversary of his 2 Michelin starred restaurant Pierre at the Mandarin Oriental.
As part of the celebrations, Gagniere has devised an 8 course tasting menu – comprising a classic dish from each of the last 8 years. And as with his regular visits to the HK hotel, the celebrated chef will be in the Pierre kitchen preparing them.
The Magic 8 menu reflect’s Gagniere’s contemporary French cuisine with Asian touches including pan sautéed langoustines (created by Gagniere in 1986), warm veal terrine, red cabbage and redcurrant jam with watercress ice cream (1992), beef with sea urchin, braised daikon, black wheat pancake and sea weed butter (2013) and a grand dessert of chocolate soufflé, ganache cream with Burgandy brandy and pistachio parfait (1981).
The menu will be available from November 8th – 14th as part of a Magic 8 anniversary package at the Mandarin Oriental. See http://www.mandarinoriental.com/hongkong for more details.
